SPECIAL MEETING
APRIL 23,1984
The special meeting of the City council of the City of Apache Junction,
Arizona,was held on April 23,1984,at the Apache Junction City Council
Chambers pursuant to the notice required by law.
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Clarke called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.

DISCUSSION AND/OR ACTION ON SELECTION
OF COUNCIL COMMITTEE TO REVIEW
MAGISTRATE APPLICATIONS
)Mayor Clarke explained that members
of the Council needed to be selected to form a SubCommittee to review the
applications for the Magistrate position.
Councilman Steelsmith MOVED THAT BE
IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,
ARIZONA,THAT COUNCILMAN SHANKS,COUNCILMAN HILL,AND COUNCILMAN DAMIANO BE
APPOINTED TO THE COMMITTEE TO REVIEW MAGISTRATE APPLICATIONS.
Councilman Taylor seconded the
motion.
VOTE:Unanimous

BUDGETARY WORK SESSION
)Councilman Steelsmith MOVED THAT BE
IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,
ARIZONA,THAT ON MAY 2,1984,AT 7:00 P.M.,A CITY COUNCIL BUDGETARY WORK
SESSION BE HELD IN THE CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS.

ARIZONA,THAT THE MEETING BE ADJOURNED AT 5:06 P.M.
Councilman Taylor seconded the
motion.
VOTE:Unanimous

APPOINTMENT OF ASSISTANT
CITY MAGISTRATE
)Vice Mayor Eidson MOVED THAT BE IT
RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,
ARIZONA,THAT CORWIN BRUNDRETT,BE APPOINTED AS ASSISTANT CITY MAGISTRATE
FOR THE TERM OF OFFICE COMMENCING MAY 1,1984,AND ENDING APRIL 30,1986.
Councilman Hill seconded the motion.
Councilman Shanks wished to know the
salary for the position.
Mayor Clarke replied that the salary
is approximately $200.00 per month.
Councilman Damiano asked that if
Mr.Brundrett is acting as City Magistrate,how would he be paid.
City Manager McNulty stated that
they had agreed to a salary similar to what Mr.Brundrett received when the
former Magistrate went on vacation.
VOTE:Unanimous
The motion carried.
ADJOURNMENT

RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,
ARIZONA,THAT THE SPECIAL MEETING BE ADJOURNED AT 7:06 P.M.
Councilman Damiano seconded the
motion.
VOTE:Unanimous
The motion carried.
