SPECIAL MEETING
APRIL 1,1985
The Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Apache
Junction,Arizona,was held on April 1,1985,at the Apache Junction
City Council Chambers pursuant to the notice required by law.
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Clarke called the meeting to order at 6:45 p.m.

PROPOSED RESOLUTION NO.85-12,CANVASS
OF VOTES FOR PRIMARY ELECTION
)City Clerk Kathleen Connelly
explained that Arizona State Law requires that,following an election
the governing body must meeting on the first Monday immediately
following the election and canvass the votes,accepting the results of
the election by means of a resolution.Ms Connelly stated that
Resolution No.85-12 outlines the results of the Primary Election of
March 26,1985,with a total of 19 question ballots,4 of which were
counted and reflected in the returns,15 of which were not counted for
various reasons.Each one of the 15 people will be contacted by the
Pinal County and advised why their ballots were not counted.
Councilman Taylor wished to
know the percentage of registered voters that voted in the election.
Ms Connelly informed the
Council that 26.9%of the registered voters voted.
Vice Mayor Eidson MOVED THAT
RESOLUTION NO.85-12,A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,PINAL AND MARICOPA COUNTIES,ARIZONA,
CONDUCTING AND ACCEPTING THE OFFICIAL CANVASS OF VOTES FOR THE CITY
PRIMARY ELECTION HELD MARCH 26,1985,BE APPROVED AND ADOPTED.
Councilman Baljo seconded the
motion.
VOTE:Unanimous
The motion carried.
ADJOURNMENT
)Councilman Baljo MOVED THAT THE
MEETING BE ADJOURNED AT 6:54 P.M.
Vice Mayor Eidson seconded the
motion.
VOTE:Unanimous
The motion carried.
