SPECIAL MEETING
JUNE 20,1985
The special meeting of the City Council of the City of Apache Junction,
Arizona,was held on June 20,1985,at the Apache Junction City Council
Chambers pursuant to the notice required by law.
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Hill called the meeting to order 7:06 p.m.

APPLICATION FOR EXTENSION OF PREMISES,
JOSEPH TAPLEY,LONGHORN SALOON
)Mayor Hill opened the hearing to the
public.
Ms Rusty Tapley,333 W.Apache
Trail,Apache Junction,agent for the Longhorn Saloon,addressed the
Council,explaining that there would be a barbecue on July 4th on the lot
behind the Longhorn Saloon.
Vice Mayor Bakkedahl asked between
what hours would the barbecue take place.
Ms Tapley stated approximately
between noon and 6:00 p.m.,and drinking would only take place within the
barricaded area.
Councilman Jimenz asked the City
Attorney i f this was appropriate.
City Attorney David Alexander
replied that a liquor license is for a designated area.
Ms Tapley stated that the liquor
would be sold from inside the establishment and carried outside to the
barricaded area.
Councilman Baljo MOVED THAT THE
APPLICATION FOR AN EXTENSION OF PREMISES/PATIO PERMIT SUBMITTED BY JOSEPH A.
TAPLEY,AGENT FOR THE LONGHORN SALOON FOR THE EVENT TO BE HELD ON JULY 4,
1985,BE RECOMMENDED FOR APPROVAL TO THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF LIQUOR LICENSES
AND CONTROL.

Vice Mayor Bakkedahl seconded the
Mayor Hill opened the hearing to the
Ms Barbara Moss,6121 E.Forest,
Apache Junction,stated that this was a fund raising dinner and dance for
Epicenter to raise funds for the building of the foster home on June 28th
between 6:00 p.m.and 1:00 a.m.
Councilman Baljo MOVED THAT THE
APPLICATION FOR A SPECIAL EVENT LIQUOR LICENSE SUBMITTED BY BARBARA MOSS FOR
EPICENTER FOR THE EVENT TO BE HELD AT SUNRISE R.V.RESORT ON JUNE 28,1985,
BE RECOMMENDED FOR APPROVAL TO THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF LIQUOR LICENSES AND
CONTROL.
Councilwoman Gardner seconded the
motion.
VOTE:Unanimous
The motion carried.
