DISTRICT WATER SUPERINTENDENT REPORT
District Water Superintendent-Brian Hall stated last year they included a $10
late fee when they redid the .rate schedule. They have not charged that to
this point as the computer system was not set up to charge that automatically.
He commented they lost one employee to the City of Chandler and another was
out with medical problems so last week he took statements and entered them
into the computer. He has learned to appreciate the front office workers, and
during that time he learned they had a meter reading zone of about 1,000
services which had 365 past due or delinquent notices requiring additional
mailings. He added once they have the office completely staffed, they will
make the change in the computer system and start adding the fee after the
payment is 15 days late.He hopes it will cut down on the massive paperwork.
