REGULAR MEETING -
NOVEMBER 17,2003
The regular meeting of the District Board of the Water Utilities
Community Facilities District (Apache Junction Water Company),City of Apache
Junction,Arizona,was held on November 17,2003,at the Apache Junction City
Council Chambers pursuant to the.notice required by law.
CALL TO ORDER
Chairperson Coleman called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
ROLL CALL
Board Members Present:Chairperson Douglas Coleman

Mr.Kris Sippel
Mr.. Dave Waldron

APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF JULY 14.2003
)Mr.Dietz MOVED THAT THE
MINUTES OF JULY 14,2003,BE APPROVED.

CONSIDERATION OF APPROVAL TO PURCHASE A
QUANTITY OF 4 EACH,6" WATER METERS FROM
METRON FARNIER AT $5,800 EACH FOR A TOTAL
OF $23,200 PLUS ANY APPLICABLE TAX
)District Water Superintendent
Brian Hall briefed the board on the item.He stated they recognized during
the budget process that they had some larger meters that needed to be
replaced.The flow characteristics are not compatible with the use they are
being put to,particularly in the some parks and condominiums.They received
3 quotes on the meters:Metron Farnier was the lowest.He would like to try
them as they are a single jet meter.When he first came here he was advised
to use multi -jet meters as they held up the longest and did not plug up.The
single jet is similar in construction and should not get bound up with the
salts in the water.The money to purchase these items was included in the
budget.They may purchase additional in the spring after he sees what the
status of the budget is at that time.
Vice Chairperson Eck asked if they
are replacing the compounds.
District Water Superintendent Brian
Hall stated they are replacing some compound meters.
Vice Chairperson Eck asked if this
is the type of meter that he has had for 3 months that he was supposed to give
him.
District Water Superintendent Brian
Hall stated i t is its "big brother".He purchased that meter to do a test on
it and for "show and tell";they are not ready to change over the residential
meters.They have purchased four 2" meters from this company and so far so
good as far as accuracy and longevity.
Mr.Sippel asked if Metron Farnier
is a French valve.

Hall stated i t is.

Chairperson Coleman closed the
discussion with no further comments and called for a motion.
Mr.Waldron MOVED THAT THE PURCHASE
OF A QUANTITY OF 4 EACH,6 -WATER METERS FROM METRON FARNIER AT A COST OF
$5,800 EACH FOR A TOTAL AMOUNT OF $23,200 PLUS ANY APPLICABLE TAX BE APPROVED.
VOTE:Unanimous.
The motion carried.
ADJOURNMENT

Mr.Dietz SECONDED THE MOTION.
