A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF APACHE JUNCTION AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF AN
APPLICATION FOR FY 2025 STATE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
BLOCK GRANT ("CDBG") STATE SPECIAL PROJECTS ("SSP")
FUNDS, CERTIFYING THAT SAID APPLICATION MEETS THE
COMMUNITY' S PREVIOUSLY IDENTIFIED HOUSING AND COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT NEEDS AND THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE SSP CDBG
PROGRAM; AND AUTHORIZING ALL ACTIONS NECESSARY TO
IMPLEMENT AND COMPLETE THE ACTIVITIES OUTLINED IN SAID
APPLICATION.
WHEREAS, the City of Apache Junction ("City") is desirous of
undertaking community development activities; and
WHEREAS, the State of Arizona is administering the CDBG
Program, of which, to qualify, one of the three Congressionally
mandated national objectives must be met; and
WHEREAS, the activities within the application must address
the community' s identified housing and community development
needs, to include, the needs of low and moderate income persons;
and
WHEREAS, an applicant of SSP CDBG Program funds is required
to comply with the program guidelines and federal statutes and
regulations .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION, ARIZONA, AS FOLLOWS :
1) Staff is authorized to make the application to the State of
Arizona, Department of Housing for FY25 CDBG SSP funds, and
authorize the mayor to sign the application and contract or
grant documents for receipt and use of these funds for the
following use :
Option A:Apache Villa Subdivision Pedestrian Rehabilitation
2) The mayor is authorized to take all actions necessary to
implement and complete the activities submitted in said
application.
3) The council finds that the application meets the requirements
of low and moderate income persons, aids in the prevention or

elimination of slum and blight, or addresses an urgent need
which poses a threat to health.
4) The city shall comply with all SSP CDBG Program guidelines,
federal statutes and regulations applicable to the SSP CDBG
Program and the certifications set forth in the application.
