NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING AND AGENDA OF THE DISTRICT BOARD OF THE
WATER UTILITIES COMMUNITY FACILITIES DISTRICT (CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,
ARIZONA)
Pursuant to A.R.S. § 38-431.02, notice is hereby given to the members of the District Board of
the Water Utilities Community Facilities District, (City of Apache Junction, Arizona), and to the
general public, that on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at 6:00 p.m., the District Board of the Water
Utilities Community Facilities District will hold a meeting open to the public at the Apache
Junction City Council Chambers, 300 E. Superstition Blvd., Apache Junction, AZ.

2.20-005 Discussion and consideration of approval of a professional service agreement
with Carollo Engineers, Inc. for Superstition Area Water Plant upgrades
preliminary design study in the amount of $119,439.00.
District Director Mike Loggins presented an overview of a professional service agreement with
Carollo Engineers, Inc. for Superstition Area Water Plant upgrades preliminary design study. The
purpose of this preliminary design study is to develop recommendations and preliminary design
criteria for upgrades at the District’s Superstition Area Water Plant (SAWP) facilities including the
addition of a permanent chlorine dioxide feed facility, and a new raw water impoundment with
planning for future conversion to serve as a pretreatment facility and to also potentially receive
reclaimed water as a future potable reuse water resource.
Board Member Barker made a motion that approval be given for the Professional Service
Agreement between Apache Junction Water Utilities Community Facilities District and Carollo
Engineers, Inc. for the Superstition Area Water Plant upgrades preliminary design study in the
amount of $119,439.00 be approved. Vice Chairperson Wilson seconded.

District Director Report - Presentation and discussion of the following items:E.
3.20-006 Presentation, discussion and update on:
· CAP Siphon outage
· Salt River / Central Arizona Project Interconnect
· Backflow prevention program
District Director Mike Loggins presented an update on the Central Arizona Project Siphon outage.
He presented a video showing the progression of the water in canal draining as the repair time
period progressed. The project is now complete and the water levels in the canal are back to
normal.
District Director Mike Loggins presented an update on the Salt River / Central Arizona Project
Interconnect. He presented a video from Salt River Project presenting an overview of the current
Salt River / Central Arizona Project Interconnect and the proposed SRP/CAP Interconnect Facility
(SCIF) located next to the existing interconnect facility which will allow greater flexibility and
improved efficiency to delivering the valley’s water supply to where it’s needed.
District Director Mike Loggins presented an update on the Water District’s Backflow Prevention
Program. The District sent out letters to commercial customers who need to install backflow
devices in Zones 1 and 2. Current response to the requests is at approximately 50 percent.

for the first quarter of Fiscal Year 2020.
