NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING AND AGENDA OF THE DISTRICT BOARD OF THE
WATER UTILITIES COMMUNITY FACILITIES DISTRICT(CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION,
ARIZONA)
Pursuant to A.R.S. § 38-431.02, notice is hereby given to the members of the District Board of
the Water Utilities Community Facilities District, (City of Apache Junction,Arizona), and to the
general public, that on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at 6:00 p.m., the District Board of the
Water Utilities Community Facilities District will hold a meeting open to the public at the Apache
Junction City Council Chambers, 300 E. Superstition Blvd., Apache Junction, AZ.
A. Call to Order
Chairperson Serdy called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m.
B. Roll Call

1. 20-452 Approval of the meeting minutes of August 18, 2020.
Board Member Barker made a motion to approve the minutes of the special meeting of August 18,
2020.Board Member Evans seconded.

2. 20-453 Discussion, presentation and consideration of Resolution No.2020-008,
declaring a portion of the public utility easement located adjacent to 1075
South Cortez Road along 11th Avenue between Cortez and Stagecoach
Roads, Apache Junction,Arizona is no longer necessary for public use as
public utility easement and is hereby extinguished.
Vice Chairperson Wilson made a motion that Resolution No.2020-008,a resolution of the Board of
Directors of the Water Utilities Community Facilities District(City of Apache Junction,Arizona)
declaring a portion of the public utility easements located adjacent to 1075 South Cortez Road
along 11th Avenue between Cortez and Stagecoach Roads,Apache Junction,Arizona no longer
necessary for public use and are hereby extinguished,be approved.Board member Barker
seconded.

District Director Mike Loggins presented an overview of Resolution No. 2020-008, declaring a

E. District Director Report- Presentation and discussion of the following items:

• HealthEquity/WageWorks Health Care Flexible Spending Account
• Intergovernmental Agreement between Superstition Mountains
Community Facilities District No. 1 and Apache Junction Water
Utilities Community Facilities District for Sale of Long Term Storage
Credits
District Director Mike Loggins presented an overview of the District's current Health Care
Flexible Spending Account; the District's plan currently runs calendar year. In order for the
District to match the City of Apache Junction's fiscal year coverage plan, he will be presenting a
change including a six month term which will end June 30, 2021 and a new yearly plan that will
begin July 1, 2021.This plan will be presented to the board in the coming month.
District Director Mike Loggins presented an overview on the Intergovernmental Agreement with
Superstition Mountain Community Facilities District No. 1. The current agreement expires
December 31, 2020. The new agreement will be for an additional five years and includes the
rights to purchase long term storage credits.

District Director Mike Loggins presented an overview on the Superstition Area Water Plant Raw
Water Impound Project.
4. 20-430 Presentation, discussion, and update from Fred Schneider of Arizona Water
Company.
Fred Schneider, Bill Staples and James Wilson from Arizona Water Company presented and
overview of their company including treatment plant, customer usage and growth, completed
and upcoming projects, and Central Arizona Project water.The purpose of this presentation
was to learn more about them and how they serve the City of Apache Junction.

Chairperson Serdy adjourned the meeting at 6:34 p.m.
