HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL THROUGH: CITY MANAGER FROM: CITY CLERK 01 SUBJECT: SELECTION OF COUNCIL COMMITTEE It is the recommendation of the City Attorney that, pursuant to Chapter 2, Article 2-4, Section 2-4-7 Committees and Commissions, of the Apache Junction City Code, the Council take action in an official meeting to designate which of its members will serve on the committee that will review and make recommendations on the applicants for the city magistrate position. A special meeting of the Council will be necessary to make these appointments official since the first meeting of the review committee is scheduled for Tuesday, April 24th. Attached is a copy of the agenda for the special meeting. A motion for an ex- ecutive session has been included in the agenda in the event that the Council feels one is necessary. Both of these meetings were posted in accordance with State law on Thursday, April 19th, so that if the Council makes a motion to have an Executive Session it will be permissible to do so. Adjournment. The council may, by a majority vote of those present, adjourn at the conclusion of business. A motion to adjourn shall always be in order and decided without debate. Sec. 2-4-7 Committees and Commissions The council may create such committees and commissions, standing or special, as it deems necessary. Such committees shall consist of as many members and shall perform such duties as the council may require and shall exist at the pleasure of the council. No employee or appointed officer of the city may serve as a voting member of any such committee or commission. Sec. 2-4-8 Voting A. The mayor shall vote as a member of the council. B.
