Call to Order Chairman Standage called the regular meeting of the City of Apache Junction Parks and Recreation Commission to order at 6:00 pm 2. Roll Call Present - Chairperson Standage Commissioner Schoenbeck, Vice Chair Moeller Commissioner Waldie, Commissioner Buzzin, Commissioner Borey, and Commissioner Kyhn Staff Present: Liz Langenbach, Parks and Recreation Director Mary March, Parks and Recreation Administrative Assistant 3. Pledge of Allegiance Chairman Standage led the commission in the Pledge of Allegiance 4. Acceptance of Agenda 20-681 January 6, 2021 Chairman Standage called for a motion to accept the agenda for January 6, 2021 regular meeting. Commissioner Waldie motioned to accept the agenda as presented Commissioner Buzzin seconded. The Parks and Recreation Commission accepted the agenda as presented. Approved in a vote of all present in favor, no one opposed. 5. Acceptance of Minutes 20-682 December 2, 2020 Chairman Standage called for a motion to accept the minutes of December 2, 2020, regular meeting, Commissioner Buzzin motioned to accept the minutes as presented Commissioner Kyhn seconded. The minutes were approved in a vote of all present in favor, no one opposed City of Apache Junction,Arizona Page 1 Parks& Recreation Commission Meeting Minutes January 6, 2021 6. Parks and Recreation Director's Report 20-683 Facilities Update - Director's update on projects and opportunities in the parks and other service areas Director Langenbach updated Commission on the following, the Federal Government's approval of Notice for Realty Action on BLM leased land IGA with Pinal County on Dog Park for Council approval and WiFi pilot program at Flatiron Park changing out LED lighting to LED lighting with WiFi connectivity 20-684 Programs Update - Director's update on upcoming events and activities Director Langenbach advised in continuation of compliance of COVID protocol all major events remain cancelled We continue to have small events that can be managed within guidelines such as Movies in the Park 5K Course and an upcoming Kite Flying Event. The reverse Christmas Light Parade did not have a lot of business participation and further advised all current and updated information is posted on City Facebook page 7. Old Business 8. New Business 20-685 Parks and Recreation Fee Study Director Langenbach provided to the Commission 2015 Parks and Recreation Fee Schedule for review, discussion update and recommendation to the City Council for consideration. Further citing what has changed, been added and options that have been considered since last update and review. Will bring back for discussion and vote. 20-686 Election of Parks & Recreation Commission Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson Annual Election of Officers was conducted Wayne Standage remains Chairman unanimously and Judy Borey was voted Vice-Chairman unanimously. 9.
