1. Call to Order
Chair Frank Schonbeck called the regular meeting of the City.of Apache Junction Parks and
Recreation Commission to order at 6:00pm.
2. Pledge of Allegiance .
Chair Frank Schoenbeck led in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Present 7- Chairperson Schoenbeck,Vice Chair Moeller, Commissioner Borey,
Commissioner'Kyhn, Commissioner Moore, Commissioner Bigelow, and
Commissioner Madrid
Staff Present:
Liz Langenbach, Parks and Recreation Director
Jamie Sullivan, Recreation Superintendent
Riley King, Management Analyst
David Butler, Parks Superintendent
Christi Hamm, Senior Administrative Assistant
4. Consent Agenda
Commissioner Diele Kyhn moved that the Parks and Recreation Commission accept the agenda
as presented and approve the minutes from the October 4,2023 regular meeting.Commissioner
Terralle Moore seconded the motion.This was approved.

23-579 Presentation and discussion on projects and opportunities in the parks and
other service-areas.
Director Liz Langenbach introduced Dave Butler, Parks Superintendent to the commission.
Superintendent Butler gave a brief over view of the major projects.happening in the Parks
division.
23-597 Presentation, discussion and update on.upcoming events and.activities.
Recreation Superintendent Jamie Sullivan shared the successes from the previous months
events and activities. She also shared November's upcoming events and:activities.

23-598 Update and discussion on the department's 2023 Tree City USA Application.
Director Liz Langenbach gave an update to the commission on our application for Tree City
USA. Director Langenbach explained the application process and.where the City is at in the
process.
23-599 Presentation of newly appointed/re-appointed commission members and
overview of the upcoming officer election process.
Director Liz Langenbach introduced the new commission member and the.reappointed
commission members. She also went over the process for upcoming officer election process
that will happen at December's meeting.

Vice Chair Heather Moeller moved,seconded by Commissioner Judy Borey that the regular
session of the Parks and Recreation.Commission be held December 6,2023 at.6:00 p.m.in the city.
