Regular Meeting
March 5,1991
A regular meeting of the Apache Junction Library Board of
Trustees was held March 5,1991 at 6:00 p.m.at the Apache Junction
Library pursuant to notice as prescribed by law.

Motion was made by Robert
Alger and seconded by
Josephine Campbell to accept
the agenda.Motion passed.
Motion was made by Josephine

Minutes.Motion passed.
A letter from Kit Johnston's
family was presented to the
Board thanking them for the
book placed in the library
in memory of Kit,who was a
long-time library employee.
Compared to last month,
statistics were a bit lower.
Two programs held jointly with
the public schools were put on
in the library:a storyteller
and school children performed
for "I Love to Read Week"and

5.Old Business:
a.Budget update:
b.Progress report on magazine
subscription campaign:
a Mega Skills workshop,with
Jim Lovett as presenter.The
Friends of the Library of
Apache Junction's governing
Board asked the Director to
invite Apache Junction Library
Board of Trustees members to
their March 18th annual
meeting.Motion was made by
Josephine Campbell and
seconded by Robert Alger to
accept the Librarian's report.
The Budget request that had
been formally approved was
submitted to the City Manager,
but no further action has been
taken as of this date.
In Randy Palmer's absence,Pam
Loui reported that the Friends
of the Library were asked by
Randy to help with the
magazine campaign.The
Friends'Board is willing to
participate in a supporting
role,with the continued
involvement of the Library
Board members.The Friends'
Board suggested that the
contacting of businesses be
postponed until next Fall.
This is an item of business
that will be addressed at the
March 18,1991,Friends
meeting.

Council meetings are held
1st &3rd Tuesday of each
month at 7:00 p.m.It was
decided that a Board member
will attend once a month
starting in April.April 2,
Cindy Selvy,May 7,Josephine
Campbell,June 4,Robert Alger
and July 2,Karen McFair.
Former Board members will be
presented with Certificates
of Appreciation at the Friends
of the Library annual Board
meeting.

Pinal County budget.
Donation of painting to
Library.
