Idaho Road Regular Meeting December 3, 1991 A regular meeting of the Apache Junction Library Board of Trustees was held December 3, 1991 at 6:00 p.m. at the Apache Junction Library pursuant to notice as prescribed by law. Roll Call -- Present Absent Alger, Robert Campbell, Josephine Connolly, Cheryl McFair, Karen Selvy, Cindy Rineholt, Pamela Staff:Pamela Loui, Library Director 1. Acceptance of Agenda: 2. Acceptance of Minutes for November 5, 1991 Regular Meeting: 3. Acceptance of Minutes for November 14, 1991 Special Meeting: 4. Librarian's Report: Lovett, James Motion was made by Robert Alger and seconded by Pamela Rineholt to accept the agenda. Motion passed. Motion was made by Josephine Campbell and seconded by Cheryl Connolly to accept the minutes with the notation that Josephine Campbell was present at the November 5, 1991 meeting.Motion passed. Motion was made by Robert Alger and seconded by Cheryl Connolly to accept the minutes.Motion passed. Statistics are down slightly from over a year ago. Update on magazine subscription campaign: Hometown Holidays will be held December 13 at 6:30 p.m.Jay Mitchell and other local people will perform.Friends of the Library finished a materials availability survey, getting excellent comments on customer service.This will be used in preparing a Collection Development Policy. Hope to have ready for Board approval by January meeting. There will be some work done on the carpet.Library will be closed to the public since everything must be moved from building. The book entitled "Savage Inequalities" was recommended to Board members. Santa will be here on December 23. Motion was made by Robert Alger and seconded by Cheryl Connolly to take petitions to City Council Meeting on December 3, 1991.Petitions are to show public support for the library to be given high priority in the City's planning for next five years. Discussion on charging back a $10.00 cost of collection per delinquent account: b. Consideration of charging $1.00 per day overdue fee for interlibrary loan books our patrons fail to return on time. (This is a policy in other EVIN public libraries.): c. Discussion and review of Arizona Public Libraries: A Handbook for Trustees: d. Review of by-laws: 7.Call to the Public: 8. Requests for future agenda items: Motion was made by Josephine Campbell and seconded by Cheryl Connolly to charge back a $10.00 cost to delinquent accounts sent to collection.Motion passed by a roll call vote. Motion was made by Robert Alger and seconded by Josephine Campbell to charge a $1.00 per day overdue fee on interlibrary loan books borrowed from other libraries that our patrons fail to return on time.Motion passed by a roll call vote. Discussion was postponed until the next meeting. By-laws were looked over by the Board.No changes were suggested.
