A regular meeting of the Apache Junction Library Board
was held January 7, 1992 at 6:00 p.m. at the Apache
Library pursuant to notice as prescribed by law.

minutes of the December 3, 1991
meeting.Motion passed.
Statistics are down from over a year
ago since the library was closed
half of December for carpet
replacement.Hometown Holidays was
very successful and Santa Claus drew
75 children and adults.A tour of CAC
students came to see the technology
available at the library. Invitations
for the FOL Tea to honor the Women's
Club were distributed.
Library Director reported that the
number of projects submitted by Dept.
Heads greatly exceeded the dollars
available.Only a few projects were

Highway 60 improvements.Council has
just begun to review this issue.
There was no update.
No discussion was undertaken.
Policy not yet completed. The library
move and a delay in a County Library
report led to postponement.The
Library Director reviewed steps taken
so far in preparing the draft:
collection assessments, materials
availability survey, and review of
census data and circulation
statistics.The document will be
a working tool to help staff develop
the collection based on local needs.
Discussion centered on participation
in the Lost Dutchman Days parade. A
motion was made by Josephine Campbell
and seconded by Pamela Rineholt to
research different ideas for an entry
in the Lost Dutchman parade.Vote was
unanimous in favor of motion. Members
will share their findings at the next
regular meeting of the Library Board.
