February 4, 1992
A regular meeting of the Apache Junction Library Board
was held February 4, 1992 at 6:00 p.m. at the Apache
Library pursuant to notice as prescribed by law.

Motion was made by James Lovett
and seconded by Robert Alger to
accept the agenda.
Motion passed.
Motion was made by Pam Rineholt
and seconded by Cindy Selvy to
accept the minutes for the
January 7, 1992 meeting.Motion
passed.
Statistics are down slightly
from over a year ago.
Seven story hours were held
with 89 in attendance.
Noon hour movies started.
A Financial Seminar was held.
Arizona Library Friends and Phoenix
Friends of the Library meeting will be
held February 21 at University Club at
9:30 a.m."I Love to Read Week"
begins February 10.Friends of the
Library book fair will be held then.

Dutchman Days parade entry:

Nothing new to report.
The Friends of the Library are
sending a letter to Sam Walton to try
to get Wal Mart to sponsor NewsBank
for the library.
The parade entry is good public
relations.Continue circulating
petitions to increase library hours.
Possibly get City Council to attend
a storyhour.
Board consensus was that no further
discussion needed to be held.
Cindy Selvy reported that the
entry is titled "Mother Goose".
Donations have come in towards it.
Pam Rineholt brought a check from
Xi Beta Lambda Chapter of Beta Sigma
Phi for Friends of the Library to use
for the parade entry. Cindy Selvy will
pursue additional donations.
Librarian reported the City Manager
had instructed Department Heads to
keep expenditures at same level as
last year.He stated an addendum
could be submitted with additional
needs.We have identified needs for
personnel, additional materials and
capital.Motion was made by James
Lovett and seconded by Robert Alger
to submit budget and addendum as
presented.Roll Call vote was taken.
Passed unanimously.

needs and cuts already taken.
Schedule appointment to meet with
George Hoffman.
