Idaho Road Regular Meeting September 1, 1992 A regular meeting of the Apache Junction Library Board of Trustees was held September 1, 1992 at 6:00 p.m. at the Apache Junction Library pursuant to notice as prescribed by law. Roll Call -- Present Alger, Robert Griffing, Jimmy McFair, Karen Selvy, Cindy Rineholt, Pamela Staff:Pamela Loui, Library Director 1. Acceptance of Agenda: 2. Acceptance of minutes for August 4, 1992 Regular Meeting: 3. Awards, Presentations & Communications: Recognizing Teen Advisory Board: Absent Campbell, Josephine Connolly, Cheryl Motion was made by Robert Alger and seconded by Jimmy Griffing to accept the agenda with the following amendment:Item 5a is to precede Item 4 and Item 5c is to precede Item 5b.Motion passed. Motion was made by Robert Alger and seconded by Pamela Rineholt to accept the minutes of the August 4, 1992 meeting.Motion passed. Jessie Lee, a Teen Advisory Board Member, reviewed the accomplishments of TAB.Cindy Selvy then presented certificates to teens who had served on TAB for a year.Liz Burks introduced the new Teen Advisory Board members to the Library Board. Set meeting time for Board to go as a group to City Council meeting: Cindy Selvy recognized Shelley Sharp who presented TAB ideas for a LDD Parade entry.Following discussion, Pamela Rineholt motioned to use last year's entry of a mule -drawn wagon and add the TAB recommendation of storybook characters.The Board will encourage the participation of Teen Advisory Board, mobile home park senior citizens, and Bob DeBow, Jr. Robert Alger seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously. Circulation statistics not correct due to computer system switch.Will be revised for July & August.Fines are big lately on overdue books. Five film programs with 145 in attendance. One school tour with seven attending. The plan was adopted.Work is being done on the implementation plan. Motion was made by Karen McFair and seconded by Robert Alger to get a needs assessment study of the library undertaken.This will help the library when it applies for a grant. Motion passed. Spencer Paden was introduced to the Board.He explained his duties as Assistant Library Director. Board will attend City Council meeting on October 6. Election of officers: President, Vice President, Secretary:Motion was made by Karen McFair and seconded by Jimmy Griffing to nominate Robert Alger for President. Motion passed by a roll call vote. Motion was made by Robert Alger and seconded by Karen McFair to nominate Cindy Selvy for Vice President. Motion passed by a roll call vote. Motion was made by Karen McFair and seconded by Pamela Rineholt to nominate Jimmy Griffing for Secretary. Motion passed by a roll call vote. 6. Call to the Public:No response 7.
