Regular Meeting
January 5, 1993
A regular meeting of the Apache Junction
Trustees was held January 5, 1993 at 6:00 p.m. at
Library pursuant to notice as prescribed by law.

Motion was made by Cindy Selvy
and seconded by Pamela Rineholt
to accept the agenda.
Motion passed.
Motion was made by Pamela Rineholt
and seconded by Jimmy Griffing to
accept the minutes of the November 3,
1992 meeting.Motion passed.
A materials availability survey was
conducted in December 1992.It
measured how well patrons had their
materials needs satisfied at the time
they came to the library.Comments
patrons made gave the library staff
high marks for services provided.
Federal Depository status has been
approved.Further reports
will be made as to materials selected.
TAB is active in library matters.
They put out a newsletter in December
called "Picking up the TAB".Monthly
statistics reports for November and
December were distributed.

Services and Construction Act
(LSCA) Title II Grant:

to Council that absentee
trustee be relieved of duties
on the Board:
Reported to be going well in the
preliminary stages at this time.
Bob DeBow, Jr. is not able to lend
a hand this year so Jimmy Griffing
and others will check one more time
on the availability of a wagon.If
none found, appropriate plans will be
made for a parade entry.Expenses for
parade were discussed to be around
$200.00 and up.
Senior Library Assistant Lucretia
Pelletier presented her duties to
the Board.As with previous
employees, Board members commented
favorably upon how impressed they are
with the staff members.
If the Library staff is able to apply
for a grant, it may result in more
monies for the future construction
and addition to the library
facilities.Plans are under way to
apply.Motion was made by Cindy
Selvy and seconded by Jimmy Griffing
to have staff make a grant
application.Motion passed to apply
for a grant.
Motion discussed to send Josephine
Campbell a letter asking her if she
is still interested in being a Board
member.She has missed more than four
consecutive meetings.If she has not
responded by the next Board meeting,

d. Discussion on Maricopa County
Library Courier Service
connecting EVIN and Apache
Junction Public:
further action will be taken as stated
in the by-laws.Motion made by Cindy
Selvy and seconded by Jimmy Griffing.
Motion passed.
Board was informed of this service
and the benefits the Apache
Junction Library receives from it.
e. Set date for Board to go as a
group to City Council meeting:It was motioned by Cindy Selvy and
seconded by Pamela Rineholt to give
the City Council a thank you valentine
for their support.TAB will make a
valentine and get all interested
parties to sign it.Motion passed.
f. Discussion of what to do
with a donation to the
library:Motion was made by Jimmy Griffing and
seconded by Pamela Rineholt to accept
the money donated by Frieda Heimann
with the understanding that an
endowment, if possible, be set up.
Thank you letter to be sent if
possible.Motion passed.
6.Call to the public:No response.
7.Requests for future agenda items:None.
8. Adjournment:Motion was made by Robert Alger
and seconded by Jimmy Griffing
to adjourn.
