Idaho Road Regular Meeting March 7, 1995 A regular meeting of the Apache Junction Library Board of Trustees was held March 7, 1995 at 6:10 p.m. at the Apache Junction Library pursuant to notice as prescribed by law. Roll Call Present Hauck, Jeanette D. Griffing, Kendra Rineholt, Pamela J. Namsick, Jean A. Schoeph, John Staff Pamela Loui, Library Director 1. Acceptance of Agenda: 2. Acceptance of minutes for February 7, 1995 Regular Meeting: 3.Librarian's Report: Absent Alger, Robert Connolly, Cheryl Motion was made by John Schoeph and seconded by Jean Namsick to accept the agenda. February was short and busy, running close to last year's figures.Circulation system crashed last week.More people continue to use the library.Raising the video limit from two to four per family has increased circulation.Donations of books and A -V's are accepted.If they City of Apache Junction Library Board of Trustees Regular Meeting March 7, 1995 Page 2 4. Old Business: a. Library expansion update: 5. New Business: a. Discussion and recommendation on Library budget request for 1995/96: are not used, they are given to the Friends to sell.Most classical music was donated.ILL items loaned exceeds items received.Story hours are back in session.Volunteer luncheon went well. Things are looking good.Major work is done.Last few items will be time consuming.Tentative move -in date is March 20th, but can't get a certificate of occupancy until City approves everything.Hoping for a punch list by next Tuesday.Shelving has been delivered and is being installed.Much activity is going on.April 1st may be more accurate.Hope to walk through at next meeting.It may be necessary to close for a few days during move. Do not recommend reducing any categories.Recommend adding three full-time personnel.A Senior Library Assistant with a BA in computer science, a Library Clerk I and a Library Clerk II for circulation duties.Library Clerk II will require some experience or training. Used COE program last year; asking for two positions next year.Figures are not finalized yet.Personnel will be the greatest expansion. Many categories will stay the same."Other Operating Supplies" will need to increase, partly for the new addition."Memberships" City of Apache Junction Library Board of Trustees Regular Meeting March 7, 1995 Page 3 b. Adjournment: P L a L L Secretary increase automatically."Subscriptions- Library" has been about $1,000 short this year."Office Equipment & Furniture" has some funds for a Grant. It will be around $10,000 for that item. March 17th, budget packet will be turned in, even though there is still no City Manager, and City Council elections are coming next Tuesday. Motion was made by Kendra Griffing and seconded by Jean Narnsick to approve the tentative budget proposal as presented by Pamela Loui.Motion passed unanimous with a roll call vote. Giant book entry won second place in the Lost Dutchman Days parade, civic category. None present None Motion was made by Jean Namsick and seconded by Kendra Griffing to adjourn. Motion passed.Meeting adjourned at 6:55 p.m.
