c. Report by Elizabeth Burks, Youth
Services Librarian, on the library's
summer program:
Connection to Pinal County's wide area
network has been explored, but at this
time pursuing the ASU tie-in to the
Internet, and becoming the city's central
information provider have a higher
priority. We are already doing a home
page through EVIN.Provision of online
services to the public is possible, but
costs will be a determining factor for
what can be offered. We already provide
public access to other local systems
through EVIN and the ASU Connection.
Virtual reality and similar concepts are
part of the futuristic goal meant to
encompass all new developments as they
arise.
This summer's reading program is called
Pandamonium at the Library. It is similar
to past programs. It will run longer.
The tabloid will list dates, etc. and
includes paw prints for parents to
initial time read. Will again have movies
and kid events.Opening event is a
pog tournament. There will also be an
opening day at SMES.Sixth graders and
and older are invited to join the Library
Team.
