November 5, 1996
A regular meeting of the Apache Junction Library Board of Trustees was held
November 5, 1996 at 6:15 p.m. at the Apache Junction Library pursuant to notice as
prescribed by law.

Motion was made by Pamela Rineholt
and seconded by Barbara Gardner to
accept the agenda.Motion passed.

This month was busier than October
1995.
Storytime begins again.Tried an adult
program in the afternoon.Did not have
a good response.We will see if time of
day or October is problem.
May offer course on Internet later.
Best time for programs are Jan., Feb. and
March.

a. Further discussion on "The Library
as a Community Treasure" essay
contest:

a. Reminder of Dept. of Library,
Archives and Public Records Library
Board workshop on December 7, 1996,
and acknowledgment of Board members
who are attending:
TAB wants to work with the Library
Board on parade. Next meeting will be
11/18/96 at 5:00 p.m.The theme of
Lost Dutchman Days is "Celebration of
the Superstitions".
Teen Advisory Board thinks the essay
contest can be successful, especially if
Junior High English teachers are
involved.They thought spring was a
good time to hold the contest. They
will work on a committee with the Board
to create the contest and will help with
publicity.
Prize suggestions that would encourage
junior high students to participate in the
contest were scholarship, savings
account and gift certificates.
John Schoeph and Jean Namsick are on
the committee. Barbara would help with
judging essays. John will check into
prizes.
Library Board Workshop will be on
December 7, 1996.John Schoeph,
Pamela Rineholt, Jean Narnsick and
Barbara Gardner will attend.Meet at
