The Board of Trustees of Apache Junction Public Library held a proceedings in the
absence of a quorum June 1, 1999 at 6:14 p.m. at the Apache Junction Library.

1.Peter Nolan announced the absence of a quorum.
2.The meeting was adjourned at 6:14 p.m.

An out of session discussion of the Board members present followed, at which no Board
business was conducted.
Notes on Informal Discussion:
Joyce Poteet requested that Pamela Loui let everyone know that she has one presentation
scheduled for December 6th with the Superstition Mountain Treasure Hunters.Joyce
stated that Mike Smith wanted to wait until the winter visitors were back.She will be
talking with him personally to set up a time for this presentation.
Pamela Loui stated that the 1999/2000 budget had been cut.A major concern was that
the request for 1.5 persons was cut to .75 persons.Peter Nolan suggested working to get
at least one full-time position approved for the Library.Another major concern was the
possibility of a cut in monies for the Library Plan.
Pamela Loui mentioned that the Library Plan was on the City Council's consent agenda
this evening.She also said that the Food for Fines program is now going on and there
were no collections as yet.There are 300 enrolled in the Summer Reading Program,
which has been going on for one week.A "Snakes Alive" program was held on opening
day and had a large turnout.
The president of the Board made a call for a special meeting to be held at 6:00 p.m. on
June 29, 1999, which will serve as the annual meeting of the Board.
