March 10, 2005
A regular meeting of The Board of Trustees of Apache Junction Public Library
was.held March 10, 2005 at 6:02 p.m. at the Apache Junction Library pursuant to notice
as prescribed by law.

Absent
The question of accepting the agenda for the
March 10, 2005, regular Meeting was placed
before the Board and was accepted by
general consent.
The question of accepting the minutes for
the February 10, 2005, regular Meeting was
placed before the Board. Michael Klatt
made a motion to accept the minutes.Joyce
Payne seconded the motion. All members
present were in favor.
Valerie Powell was present.
None.
Pam reviewed statistics for the monthly
report.Statistics in books and most other
categories have increased from one year
ago.On the day after the President's Day

holiday, public computers filled right away
and 190 more signed a waiting list to be
notified when a computer became available.
6. Old Business:
a.Update on Library expansion.Pam and Spencer have met with the
architects this week along with the Project
Manager.The cost estimates are being
started.Pam has requested that the
architects come to the April 14th Library
Board meeting to talk to the Board regarding
the progress for the expansion.
b.Update on Library Legislative
Day.
7. New Business:
a. Meet library staff member.

8. Request for future agenda items:
Lori D'Amico attended Library Legislative
Day with Pam.She really enjoyed the event
and stated that she learned a lot.Lori was
also able to sit in on a senate session and
received an introduction to the whole senate.
Meet John Feldt.John is a Library
Computer Technical Assistant.John was
previously in the military where he worked
15 of his 20 years with computers. He also
worked on computers with Valley school
districts for many years.John is our newest
employee who works part-time at 19 hours
per week.He is responsible for repair of
staff and public computers and also assists
in the hardware and software setup of
computers.
• We are in the preliminary stages of
preparing the budget.Various issues such as
rising insurance costs must be addressed in
the upcoming year.
