Regular Meeting
September 14, 2006
A regular meeting of The Board of Trustees of Apache
Junction Public Library was held September 14, 2006 at 6:01
p.m. at the Apache Junction Library pursuant to notice as
prescribed by law.

The question of accepting the
agenda for the September 14,
2006, regular Meeting was
placed before the Board.
Everett Deidiker made a
motion to accept the agenda.
Rhonda Jackson seconded the

'Project.
None.
Pam notified the Board that
Adult Services Librarian,
Susan Walker retired at the
end of July.Pam also
mentioned the new glass
partition located at the
Circulation check -in desk.
This partition was created
soon after circulation check-
out was moved to the lobby.
The partition will make it
less confusing for patrons
when checking out and allows
for more work space for
staff.
Pam reviewed statistics for
the monthly report and showed
that some categories have
increased while some declined
compared to those of one year
ago.
Preliminary project costs
submitted by the construction
firm came in higher than
anticipated.They will
provide a breakdown of ,their
costs to the Project Manager
and the Library Building
Expansion Team for discussion
at the next Team meeting. Pam
will provide an update to the
Board at their next meeting.

2. Meet library staff
member.Meet Karon Tilton. Karon
has been with the library
since 1984 when she started
working part-time. Karon is a
Library Assistant II. She is
responsible for cataloging
library materials and gives
special priority to patron
requests and the New York
Times Best Sellers list. In
addition, Karon handles
deletion of materials,
standing orders, renewal
subscriptions of magazines,
vendor issues, and ordering
of phone books. Karon also
prepares check requests for
payment of library materials
and tracks expenditures.
Karon's mother is also a part
of the library working as a
volunteer.
