Regular Meeting
April 12, 2007
A regular meeting of The Board of Trustees of Apache
Junction Public Library was held April 12, 2007 at 6:30
p.m. at the Apache Junction Library.pursuant to notice as
prescribed by law.

Pam Loui reminded the Board
of the Groundbreaking
ceremony to take place on
Tuesday, April 17th at 5:00
p.m. Pam also reviewed the
monthly report. Some
categories increased in use
while some declined compared
to those of one year ago.
Demolition has started around
the Library. Subcontractors
have also been seen working..
around the building.There
will soon be a partition
built inside the lobby that
will change the position of
the circulation desk to face
the entry doors.'
As of today there has been no
request to modify the request
and no hearing dates set with
the City Council. Pam will
provide an update at the next
meeting.
Meet Cindy Evans.Cindy is a
Computer Lab Assistant and
has been with the library for
10 months.Cindy previously
worked for the public school

Arizona Library
Association (AzLA)
Library Legislative
Day on April 18, 2007.
Request for future agenda
Items:
system in Washington where
she assisted in setting up
school computer labs.Tess
commented on patrons use of
computers and how libraries
of the future will play an
important role in assisting
novice computer users to
navigate public computers as
more businesses require
customers to interact with
computers.
Pam reminded the Board about
AzLA's Library Legislative
Day. On Library Legislative
Day librarians from across
the state will have the
opportunity to meet elected
officials and discuss issues
of importance. In addition to
librarians, there is always a
desire that the members of
the library board and members
of the community that have an
interest show up and express
to these legislatures that
libraries are important.The
date is Wednesday, April 18.
The time is between 9:00 and
4:00 p.m. Registration is
between 8:30 a.m. and 9:00
a.m.Pam needs to know in
advance if anyone plans to
attend.
