Regular Meeting
August 9, 2007
A regular meeting of The Board of Trustees of Apache
Junction Public Library was held August 9, 2007 at 6:45
p.m. at the Apache Junction Library pursuant to notice as
prescribed by law. With the President absent, Vice
President Janice Stenglein conducted the meeting.

The question of accepting the

regular Meeting was placed
before the Board.Rhonda
Jackson made a motion to
accept the agenda. Everett
Deidiker seconded the motion.
All members present were in
favor.

monthly report and noted that
some Categoties.increased in
use while some declined
compared to those of one year
ago.There was an apparent
issue with the reference
count reported so that will
be corrected for the next
meeting.
Drywall in the former Senior
Center should be ready by the
end of September.Current
work on the facility includes
plumbing, HVAC and
electrical.
There was nothing new to
report on this item.
Meet Sancie Lee -Brown.
Sancie has been working for
the Library since June of
2001.Sancie is the Library
Administrative Assistant and
works full-time. Some of her

4. Update from Youth
Services Department
On Library Summer
programs.
5. Election of
Officers
duties include inputing of
hours for timesheets,
preparation of Library Board
meetings, agendas and
minutes, and new hire
coordinator for staff.
Liz Burks discussed the
summer programs.It was
another great year.The two
main programs offered were
"Xtra, Xtra Read Your Way to
the Ballpark," sponsored by
the AZ Diamondbacks and AZ
Republic. Registrations
totaled 2,450, the highest
ever. The Teen program was
entitled "It's not Monopoly
it's Libropoly Read to
Succeed." Registration
totaled 458, the highest
ever.
Rhonda Jackson nominated
Theresa Nesser for office of
President. A second was made
by Everett Deidiker. Theresa
Nesser accepted the
nomination. A vote was taken
and passed unanimously.

was made by Theresa Nesser.

Although Terri Parker, was not
present at the meting,.'
