Regular Meeting
November 13, 2008
A regular meeting of The Board of Trustees of Apache
Junction Public Library was held November 13, 2008 at 6:31
p.m. at the Apache Junction Library pursuant to notice as
prescribed by law.

meeting:
The question of accepting the
agenda for the November 13,
2008 regular Meeting was
placed before the Board.
Theresa Nesser made a motion
to accept the agenda. Loretta
Nielsen seconded the motion.
All members present were in
favor.

possible vote on
the changing of
by-laws date for
election of officers.
None.

Pam reviewed the monthly
report and stated that there
were increases in circulation
of audio and video materials
compared to those of one year
ago. Several programs were
held in the month, including
the new Tuesday night movie
showing, the GAIN outreach to
neighborhoods event, and the
haunted castle program
developed by the Teen
Advisory Board for "tweens".
Also the quarterly reference
count showed 670 reference
questions were handled during
the sample week.
Rhonda Jackson moved to amend
Article IV - Officers for the
current By-laws to read as
follows."At the first
regular meeting after
November 1 of each year, the
Board shall elect a
President, Vice -President and
a Secretary who shall serve
one (1) year terms that begin
at the first regular meeting
of the next month after the
election to office." Theresa
Nesser seconded the motion.
A roll call vote showed all
members present were in
favor.

provided handouts and
included a summary of the
Open Meeting and Conflicts
laws for the Library Board.
Meet Bonnie Lopez. Bonnie is
a Library Assistant and has
been with the library for 16
years. Bonnie works at the
service desk and youth area
assisting patrons and
answering reference
questions.She handles the
government document
collection and book club kits
and also keeps track of
magazines by checking on
popularity.
