Idaho Road Regular Meeting May 13, 2010 A regular meeting of The Board of Trustees of Apache Junction Public Library was held May 13, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. at the Apache Junction Library pursuant to notice as prescribed by law. Roll Call Present Rhonda Jackson Dr. Jon Lokensgard Robert Mayo Theresa Nesser Loretta Nielsen Janice Stenglein Absent Staff: Spencer Paden, Library Manager Karen Rauls, Circulation Supervisor C. Acceptance of Agenda: D. Acceptance of Minutes for April 8, 2010 regular Meeting. The question of accepting he agenda for the May 13, 2010 regular Meeting was placed before the Board. Robert Mayo made a motion to accept the agenda. Jon Lokensgard seconded the motion. All members present were in favor. Correspondence and Communications: G. Librarian's Report: H.Old Business: 1.Library budget update For Fiscal Year 2010/11. 2. Update on MediaBank I. New Business: 3. Functional issues with library equipment. None. None. Spencer Paden reviewed the monthly report for April.He also reviewed past months comparisons of library fines. None. There is no official word on the Library Budget for FY 2010/11. Mediabank should be arriving sometime before June 15.The installation is expected to take place the last week of June. Challenges concerning the software interfaces are still being worked on.The Board discussed marketing and promotion of this service. Spencer discussed the variables that could affect the Library's system.The Library and the County are working to resolve the issues.The latest issue was due to a Qwest line being down. Meet library staff Karen Rauls discussed the various options including email, telephone and mail that a patron may choose to receive their notices.She also reviewed the timeframe in which the patron is notified. Meet Karen Rauls.Karen is the Circulation Supervisor. Most of her duties relate to circulation functions including resolving customer issues and staff scheduling. Karen also works with the Teen Advisory Board in presenting programs within the Library.Karen began her career in libraries in 1977 and has held various paid and volunteer positions.Karen has been with the Library for 12 years. 6. Setting of date and time in June for Special Board meeting to discuss and approve the Library Board Annual Report.The next regular meeting of the Board will be on June 10, 2010 at 6:30 p.m.A special meeting of the Board will be held on June 24, 2010 at 6:30 p.m.Janice Stenglein requested a teleconference since she will not be able to attend the meeting but will be available to call in.
