Regular Meeting
October 14, 2010,
A regular meeting of The Board of Trustees of Apache
Junction Public Library was held October 14, 2010 at 6:30
p.m. at the Apache Junction Library pursuant to notice as
prescribed by law.

C. Acceptance of Agenda:

meeting and June 24, 2010
special meeting.
The question of accepting the
agenda for the October 14,
2010 regular Meeting was
placed before the Board. Jon
Lokensgard made a motion to
accept the agenda with a
change made to the August and
September statistical
reports. All members present
were in favor.
The question of accepting the
minutes for the. June 10, 2010
regular Meeting and June 24,
2010 Special Meeting was
placed before the Board. Jon
Lokensgard made a motion to
accept the minutes with the
deletion of a comma in item

minutes. Robert Mayo seconded
the motion. A roll call vote
was taken and all members
present were in favor.
There was one person in
attendance.
None.
Spencer Paden reviewed the
monthly reports for end of
June/July, August and
September. Changes to year to
date figures for out of
county cards were made to the
August and September report.
The Library budget has
passed.The total budget for
the Library is 1.3 million.
Spencer also mentioned the 2
grants received.The JOBS
training center grant and the
First Things First fun van
grant.
A soft opening was held this
week.The next step will be
to advertise to the media.
We are the first library in
the state to use this
technology.
The City Attorney reviewed
changes made to the bylaws.

modifying the original motion
to change the bylaws as
presented by the City

Meet Cheryl Perez.Cheryl is
working as part of the JOBS
training center grant.
Cheryl teaches classes on
English for Spanish speaking
patrons as well as providing
GED assistance and resume
help.She has been in Apache
Junction for more than 25
years and has two daughters.
5. Apache Junction Public
Library Plan 2010-2015 Spencer discussed the 5 -year
plan.Library strategists/
planners George Needham and
Joan Frye Williams assisted
the library in preparation of
the plan.
