April 14, 2011
A. Call to Order
A regular meeting of The Board of Trustees of Apache
Junction Public Library was held April 14, 2011, at 6:30
p.m. at the Apache Junction Library pursuant to notice as
prescribed by law. President Dr. Jon Lokensgard appointed
Rhonda Jackson as acting secretary.

C. Acceptance of Agenda:

March 10, 2011, regular
meeting.
The question of accepting the
agenda for the April 14,
2011, regular Meeting was
placed before the Board.
Theresa Nesser made a motion
to accept the agenda. Rhonda
Jackson seconded the motion.
All members present were in
favor.

1. Meet library staff
members.
motion. All members present
were in favor.
None.
Spencer read a letter from a
patron about their recent
good encounters with staff
while searching for a job.
In addition, Spencer read an
email from Sancie regarding
possibly changing the meeting
time of the Library Board
meetings back to 6:00pm from
6:30pm.This will be added
as an item for the next
agenda.
Spencer Paden reviewed the
monthly report for March.
Nothing new to report.
A renewal request for the
First Things First grant in
the amount of $235,095.00 was
filed. Spencer provided a
tour of the Fun Van after the
meeting.
Meet Debbie Obolewicz.
Debbie has been with the
library for 8 years. She
started as a part-time page
and now works full-time. She
is responsible for updating
the best seller lists and

recognition of teen
volunteers at an
upcoming Council
Meeting.
Requests for future agenda
items.
K. Adjournment:
adding stickers to library
materials. She also works at
the call center, checks in
materials and is currently
taking classes to be a
library technician.
Loretta Nielsen would like
the City Council to
acknowledge the Library teen
advisory board for all their
work with the teens. Spencer
will discuss with Karen Rauls
and prepare for the City
Council.

visitors.
