A. Call to Order
A regular meeting of The Board of Trustees of Apache
Junction Public Library was held August 11, 2011, at 6:30
p.m. at the Apache Junction Library pursuant to notice as
prescribed by law.

Special Meeting.
The question of accepting the
agenda with the request to
move item Il after item F for
the August 11, 2011, regular
Meeting was placed before the
Board. All members present
were in favor.

placed before the Board.
Loretta Nielsen made a motion
to accept the minutes.
Robert Mayo seconded the
motion. All members present
were in favor.

F. Correspondence and
Communications:None.
I. New Business:
1. Meet library staff
members.Meet Nikelle Mackey.Nikelle
is a Library Page. She works
part-time and has been with
the Library since 2006.Her
duties include shelving
materials, call center,
organizing books and checking
out materials for patrons.
G. Librarian's Report:Monthly reports were provided
for May, June and July.. In
addition Spencer showed the
new netbooks that were
purchased through a grant.
The netbooks will be made
available for checkout and
can function just like a
regular computer with access
to the internet, email,
Overdrive and Office
products.They also have the
ability to print through the
wireless network.Tracie
Curtis showed our newest
addition to the shelves.The
"Views" is a self playing,
preloaded digital media
player that includes
educational and entertainment
programming.They have been
a great success and are hard
to keep on the shelves.

Things First Grant

Tom Baxter will be attending
"Small Steps to Health &
Wealth" a training at the
University of Arizona. He
will be teaching what he
learned to the public.
First Things First has been
funded for another year in
the amount of $241,488.00.
Discussion on possibly
changing the time of the
Library Board meeting.
