Call to Order A regular meeting of The Board of Trustees of Apache Junction Public Library was held April 12, 2012, at 6:30 p.m. at the Apache Junction Library pursuant to notice as prescribed by law. President Robert Mayo appointed Loretta Nielsen as acting secretary. B. Roll Call Present Dr. Jon Lokensgard Rhonda Jackson Loretta Nielsen Robert Mayo Absent Drew Rappleye Randy Mullen Theresa Nesser Staff: Tracie Curtis, Supervisory Librarian Sancie Lee -Brown, Administrative Assistant C. Acceptance of Agenda: D. Acceptance of Minutes for March 8, 2012 Regular Meeting. The question of accepting the agenda for the April 12, 2012, regular Meeting was placed before the Board. Dr. Jon Lokensgard made a motion to accept the agenda. Robert Mayo seconded the motion. All members present were in favor. Correspondence and Communications: G. Librarian's Report: H. Old Business 1.Discussion and possible vote on Library Board meeting time change. 2.Paving a better update. future None. None. Tracie updated the Board that the second half of the FINRA grant had been filed, accepted and approved. We have also reapplied for a continuation of the First Things First grant for the third year. Board members present discussed this topic.No further action will be taken at this time. This concept will not be used.Instead, First Things First staff participated with the Parks Department in an Easter Egg Hunt that took place on April 7, 2012.They were able to engage with over 200 parents and provide books to children at the event. Future events include a spring fling scheduled for this coming weekend where First Things First staff look forward to engaging with more parents and children in the community and surrounding areas. Sandy is a Library Page. Sandy shelves books, answers phones, retrieves backdrops and assists patrons to find materials.She previously lived in Racine, Wisconsin working for Dremel Tools for 25 years.Sandy says -Working in a library is my dream job." Security update from TJ Watkins and/or Friends of the Library/Teen update. K. Adjournment:Meeting adjourned at 6:55 p.m.
