October 10, 2013
A. Call to Order
A regular meeting of The Board of Trustees of Apache
Junction Public Library was held October 10, 2013, at 6:30
p.m. at the Apache Junction Library pursuant to notice as
prescribed by law.

May 9, 2013 Regular
Meeting and the June
27, 2013 Special Meeting.
The question of accepting the
agenda for the October 10,
2013 regular Meeting was
placed before the Board.
Theresa Nesser made a motion
to accept the agenda. Todd
Cousins seconded the motion.
All members present were in
favor.
The question of accepting the
minutes for the May 9, 2013
regular Meeting and the June
27, 2013 Special Meeting was
placed before the Board.

to accept the minutes.
Theresa Nesser seconded the
motion. All members present
were in favor.
None.
Spencer read some favorable
comments from Library
patrons.
There were no questions
regarding the monthly
reports.
The city budget has passed.
Spencer thanked Drew Rappleye
for his past 3 years of
service as a Library Board
member. Drew concludes his
service on the Board with
this meeting.
Spencer discussed the newly
received grant entitled PACS
(Public Access Creation
Stations). This grant will
allow for a 3d printer and
makerspaces where the
community will be able to use
computers in new and creative
ways. This PACS lab approved
funding enables the library
to keep the JOBS Training
Center operational. We are
setting up a small area to
start which will allow the
public to be creative and
make 3d models, eBooks,
illustrations, and pursue
other artistic endeavors.
Spencer will provide updates
as this grant develops.

printing procedure.
Tracie Curtis discussed past
and future library programs.
Karen discussed the Culture
Pass. The Culture Pass gives
library users free admission
for two people at
participating museums and
other organizations. Passes
are available on a first
come, first served basis;
they will not allow renewals
or holds to be placed on
them. Other limitations
apply.
None.
Meet Caitlin Mosher. Caitlin
is an intern from Arizona
State University. Caitlin is
a junior at ASU. Her major is
in early childhood education.
She works in the JOBS
Training Center and the youth
area and will have completed
70 hours during her
internship at the Library.
Rhonda made a motion to
approve the 3D printing
procedure. Theresa Nesser
seconded the motion. All
members present were in
favor.
