Call to Order A regular meeting of The Board of Trustees of Apache Junction Public Library was held April 9, 2015, at 6:50 p.m. at the Apache Junction Library pursuant to notice as prescribed by law. With the President and Vice President absent, Theresa Nesser was appointed to conduct the meeting. B. Roll Call Present Judy Borey Rhonda Jackson Robert Mayo Theresa Nesser Absent Randy Mullens Todd Cousins Loretta Nielsen Staff: Spencer Paden, Library Director Sancie Lee -Brown, Administrative Assistant C. Acceptance of Agenda: D. Acceptance of Minutes for March 12, 2015 Regular Meeting. The question of accepting the agenda for the April 9, 2015, regular Meeting was placed before the Board. Robert Mayo made a motion to accept the agenda. Rhonda Jackson seconded the motion. All members present were in favor. Discussion on registration fee for out of service area residents and possible vote on an additional payment option. Rhonda Jackson made a motion to accept the minutes. Robert Mayo seconded the motion. All members present were in favor. None. None. Spencer provided an opportunity to review the monthly report. Tracie discussed current library programs.Spencer discussed the schools going to a four day week in August. He has talked with the staff and supervisors and there will possibly be a shift in times for programs and events to coincide with the new school schedule. There are no changes to report. Spencer discussed a response received from the Maricopa County Library not in favor of reciprocal borrowing. Spencer inquired if the Board would be interested in providing an additional payment option for 6 months City of Apache Junction Library Board of Trustees Regular Meeting Page 3 I. New Business 1. Meet Library staff Member(s) or Library VIP's. at $20 to out of service area residents. In addition Spencer would like the Board to consider allowing a property owner in Pinal County to have a library card at no charge. A motion was made by Rhonda Jackson to provide a library card at no charge not only to Pinal County residents but to owners of property in Pinal County. Robert Mayo seconded the motion.All members present were in favor. A motion was made by Rhonda Jackson to provide an alternate payment option for 6 months at $20 for out of service area residents along with the existing payment option of $40 for one year. Robert Mayo seconded the motion.All members present were in favor. Meet Leah Martin. Leah was hired as a library page in November.She volunteered at the library for 3 years previously. Leah spends much of her time shelving items but also does check -in and works the service desk. J. Requests for future agenda items.Budget update. K.
