June 11, 2015
A. Call to Order
A regular meeting of The Board of Trustees of Apache
Junction Public Library was held June 11, 2015, at 6:30
p.m. at the Apache Junction Library pursuant to notice as
prescribed by law.

C. Acceptance of Agenda:

April 9, 2015 Regular
Meeting.
The question of accepting the
agenda for the June 11, 2015,
regular Meeting was placed
before the Board. Robert Mayo
made a motion to accept the
agenda. Rhonda Jackson
seconded the motion. All
members present were in
favor.

for out of service
area residents and
Mayo seconded the motion. All
members present were in
favor.

Spencer provided an
opportunity to review the
monthly report.
Tracie discussed current
library programs.Spencer
stated that e -rate funding
for a network upgrade was
recently approved for
$46,453.67.The First Things
First Grant for the 2015-2016
year was also approved for
$300,000. A press release for
the 2 nd Annual "Water for
Living" project was sent out.
The Apache Junction Walmart
and 22 additional Walmart
stores in surrounding areas
helped to donate a total of
90,720 bottles of water.
Water will be distributed to
the Apache Junction Food
Bank, Salvation Army and
Genesis Project. The water
drive continues through the
end of June.
Final budget approval will
take place June 15th.

additional payment

Spencer discussed a response
received from the Maricopa
County Library not in favor
of reciprocal borrowing.
Spencer inquired if the Board
would be interested in
providing an additional
payment option for 6 months
at $20 to out of service area
residents. In addition
Spencer would like the Board
to consider allowing a
property owner in Pinal
County to have a library card
at no charge. A motion was
made by Rhonda Jackson to
provide a library card at no
charge not only to Pinal
County residents but to
owners of property in Pinal
County. Robert Mayo seconded
the motion.All members
present were in favor. A
motion was made by Rhonda
Jackson to provide an
alternate payment option for
6 months at $20 for out of
service area residents along
with the existing payment
option of $40 for one year.

Meet Leah Martin. Leah was
hired as a library page in
November.She volunteered at
the library for 3 years
previously. Leah spends much
of her time shelving items

but also does check -in and
works the service desk.
