Call to Order A regular meeting of The Board of Trustees of Apache Junction Public Library was held August 13, 2015, at 6:30 p.m. at the Apache Junction Library pursuant to notice as prescribed by law. B. Roll Call Present Judy Borey Randy Mullens Todd Cousins Robert Mayo Theresa Nesser Absent Rhonda Jackson Loretta Nielsen Staff: Spencer Paden, Library Director Sancie Lee -Brown, Administrative Assistant C. Acceptance of Agenda: D. Acceptance of Minutes for June 11, 2015 Regular Meeting and the June 25, 2015 Special Meeting. The question of accepting the agenda for the August 13, 2015, regular Meeting was placed before the Board. Theresa Nesser made a motion to accept the agenda. Robert Mayo seconded the motion. All members present were in favor. The question of accepting the minutes for the June 11, 2015 Regular Meeting and the June 25, 2015 Special Meeting was placed before the Board. Librarian's Report: accept the minutes. Randy Mullen seconded the motion. All members present were in favor. None. None. Spencer provided an opportunity to review the monthly report and the events calendar. Spencer discussed no school on Friday in the Apache Junction School District. The library has put together programs and activities especially for Friday. Activities for grades K-12 will take place every Friday and provide fun alternatives to staying home on "no school" Fridays. The AJ Parks and Recreation center will also be having events for kids every Friday. Spencer discussed the Polaris upgrade to take place the week of August 17th in addition to the increase of speed and security of the network. Fun Van interviews have been completed for two part-time positions. Spencer noted that Judy Antrim has retired from her position in youth services. Meet Library staff Member(s) or Library VIP's. several years was the only employee in that department. Her services were greatly appreciated and we wish her well for the future. Jennifer Meredith who was part of the Fun Van team has also resigned to be a stay at home mom.New things coming up will be a digitization station that Risa Robinson will be heading up.We also have our mobile video studio available for patrons. In addition, we have purchased tablets for the public with money from State Grants and Aid. The final budget was adopted on May 18, 2015. Meet Teresa Ruiz. Teresa works as a part-time computer lab assistant.Teresa works mostly in the JOBS center assisting patrons with resumes, computer skills and job seeking skills. Requests for future agenda items. K. Adjournment: Spencer passed around the completed brochure for the 2015-2020 Library Plan. Friday no school update. Meeting adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
