November 12, 2015
A. Call to Order
A regular meeting of The Board of Trustees of Apache
Junction Public Library was held November 12, 2015, at 6:30
p.m. at the Apache Junction Library pursuant to notice as
prescribed by law. Vice President Loretta Nielsen conducted
the meeting.

C. Acceptance of Agenda:
D. Acceptance of Minutes for
August 13, 2015 Regular
Meeting.
The question of accepting the
agenda for the November 12,
2015, regular Meeting was
placed before the Board.
Theresa Nesser made a motion
to accept the agenda with a
change to move item Ii, from
new business to right after
item D. Robert Mayo seconded
the motion. All members
present were in favor.
The question of accepting the
minutes for the August 13,
2015 Regular Meeting was
placed before the Board.

G. Librarian's Report:
Robert Mayo made a motion to
accept the minutes. Theresa
Nesser seconded the motion.
All members present were in
favor.
Welcome Chester Burgess.Mr.
Burgess has been a resident
of Apache Junction for the
past 4 years and is active on
some other city boards. He is
happy to be serving on the
library board.
None.
We have received a letter of
resignation from AJ Constance
of the Fun Van team. We are
sorry to see her go but wish
her well in her new job.
Spencer provided an
opportunity to review the
monthly report and the events
calendar.
The vending machines have
been removed from the
Library.A request for
proposal has been sent out
and we are currently waiting
for interested applicants to
respond to the request for
proposal.Timers on parking
lot lights are off but are
being adjusted for the
earlier dark hours.
We are working on redesigning
and making the website more
mobile friendly. Spencer also
discussed working with Tom
Kollenborn to get updated

information on local history.
Progress on the no school
Friday's in the Apache
Junction School District is
going well. Youth Services
has partnered with Parks and
Recreation to provide
programming to entertain and
educate students. Programming
includes weekly movies and
strategy based/multiplayer
computer games.These games
inspire creativity, real-
world skills and teamwork.
Other programs are Legos and
Create a Creation.In
addition, the Superstition
Mountain Museum comes once
each month to talk about an
Arizona themed history topic.
Most recent topics have been
gold panning and desert
survival skills. Tracie
discussed other events
including Harry Potter
Halloween and Star Wars Day.

Rachelle has a Master of
Library Science degree.She
previously taught K1 for nine
years.Rachelle moved to
Arizona from Kansas and works
full-time as a library
assistant for Youth Services.

Loretta Nielsen made a motion
to nominate Robert Mayo for
office of President.Judy
Borey seconded the motion.
All members present were in
favor. Robert Mayo accepted
the nomination.
Loretta Nielsen made a motion
to nominate Judy Borey for
office of Vice President.
Robert Mayo seconded the
motion. All members present
were in favor.Judy Borey
accepted the nomination.
Loretta Nielsen made a motion
to nominate Theresa Nesser
for office of secretary.
Chester Burgess seconded the
motion.All members present
were in favor. Theresa Nesser
accepted the nomination.
Meet the City Manager, FOL
update, TAB update,
possibility of inserting the
library event calendar to the
local newspaper.
