Call to Order A regular meeting of The Board of Trustees of Apache Junction Public Library was held January 14, 2016, at 6:30 p.m. at the Apache Junction Library pursuant to notice as prescribed by law. B. Roll Call Present Judy Borey Chester Burgess Robert Mayo Theresa Nesser Rhonda Jackson Absent Loretta Nielsen Randy Mullens Staff: Spencer Paden, Library Director Sancie Lee -Brown, Administrative Assistant C. Acceptance of Agenda: D. Acceptance of Minutes for November 12, 2015 Regular Meeting. The question of accepting the agenda for the January 14, 2016, regular Meeting was placed before the Board. Theresa Nesser made a motion to accept the agenda Judy Borey seconded the motion. All members present were in favor. We have received a letter of resignation from Randy Mullen.Randy has moved out of the area. We are sorry to see him go and thank him for volunteering his time on the Library Board. Spencer provided an opportunity to review the monthly report and Tracie Curtis reviewed past and current events. None. Meet City Manager Bryant Powell. Mr. Powell began his career here at the City 15 years ago.Mr. Powell briefly discussed and thanked all the Boards and Commissions across the City for their sacrifice, and time and energy to come and volunteer. This is an election year. Three City Council slots and a mayor slot are up for renewal this year. Mr. Powell discussed the City land swap, special event center, maintenance/projects involving streets and roads, City of Apache Junction Library Board of Trustees Regular Meeting P age 3 the food truck ordinance, pension costs and the development of the land east of Idaho and north of Old West Highway. In addition, Mr. Powell discussed the water treatment plant, the challenges with developing the state land south of the freeway, and facts regarding Home Rule. Home Rule is the option under which citizens and the City Council they elect make an annual budget decision for their city "at home" rather than by using the State- imposed limitation. 2.
