Call to Order A regular meeting of The Board of Trustees of Apache Junction Public Library was held October 12, 2017, at 6:30 p.m. at the Apache Junction Library pursuant to notice as prescribed by law. With the president absent, vice president Willie Howard conducted the meeting. B. Roll Call Present Absent Willie Howard Judy Borey Theresa Nesser Samuel Graves Robert Mayo Staff: Spencer Paden, Library Director Sancie Lee -Brown, Administrative Assistant C. Acceptance of Agenda: D. Acceptance of Minutes for January 12, 2017 Regular Meeting and June 29, 2017 Special Meeting. The question of accepting the agenda for the October 12, 2017, regular Meeting was placed before the Board. Theresa Nesser made a motion to accept the agenda and Judy Borey seconded the motion. All members present were in favor. The question of accepting the minutes for the January 12, 2017 regular Meeting and the June 29, 2017 Special Meeting was placed before the Board. Librarian's Report: H. Old Business I. New Business 1. Discussion and possible vote on replacement of President, Chester Burgess who resigned Graves seconded the motion. All members present were in favor. None. None. Spencer provided an opportunity to review the monthly reports. There were no questions or comments. Spencer discussed the completion of the new program room.The room has been fully constructed however there are still some items needed to make it fully functional as a program room. Furniture, tables and chairs were purchased and are in place. There will also be room darkening blinds added in the next couple of months. Spencer is working to budget in audio/video equipment as well in the near future. Art work similar to what is up around the library will also soon be hanging on the walls of the new program room. Tracie Curtis discussed library events for October as well as the upcoming lecture series for 2018. None. Request for future agenda items. K. Adjournment: President Secretary The board discussed the replacement of President, Chester Burgess.The next meeting in November will be the first meeting of the year in which new officers will be chosen to serve for a one (1) year term. Spencer has received indication from our city attorney that money will be donated to the library on behalf of the Glenn Perkins Estate Trust. Tess made a motion to accept any and all donations received from the Glenn Perkins estate, notify the council of any donations from the Glenn Perkins estate and send a thank you note to the Glenn Perkins estate from the Library Board and staff for any donations received from the estate. Judy Borey seconded the motion.All members present were in favor. Meet new Library Board members. Election of Officers. Meeting adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
