G. Librarian's Report
Director Harrison reviewed the October monthly report. The library board by-laws amendment
made at the last board meeting was approved at the city council meeting November 15th as well
as the resolution authorizing an intergovernmental agreement with the Apache Junction Unified
School District to create a virtual library card for students. Director Harrison also reviewed

events held at the library in October.

1. New Business
1. 22-739 Welcome new library board members.
New members of the Library Board have been appointed to fill vacancies
and will take this time to make introductions to the Library Board. No
action is required.
Director Harrison welcomed member Robin Barker to the library board. Sheryl Bigelow is also a
new board member but was unable to attend this session.
2. 22-740 Presentation and discussion on Code of Conduct, Conflict of Interest Law,
Open Meeting Law, Public Records Law, and Parliamentary Procedure by
City Attorney Joel Stern.
City Attorney Joel Stern provided handouts and included a summary of the Code of Conduct,Conflicts of
Interest,Open Meeting Law, Public Records Law and Parliamentary Procedure for the Library Board.
3. 22-741 Election of Officers.
This annual election of officers selects a President,Vice-President and
Secretary for the Library Board. The officer who currently holds a position
may not be re-elected to the same position, but may be nominated and
elected for any other position. Each officer is expected to serve for a one
yearterm.
President Krause called for a motion to open nominations for Library Board President. Boardmember Barker
made a motion to open nominations. Boardmember Walters and Borey seconded the motion.The motion
passed with all in favor. President Krause called for nominations for president. Boardmember Borey
nominated Boardmember Hall for president. President Krause called for nominations 3 more times before
Boardmember Walters called for a motion to close nominations which was seconded by Boardmember
Barker.The motion passed with all in favor. Boardmember Barker made a motion to approve Boardmember
Hall for President. Boardmember Borey seconded the motion.The motion to approve Boardmember Hall for
president passed with all in favor.
President Hall called for a motion to open nominations for vice-president. Boardmember Rajski made a
motion to open nominations. Boardmember Barker seconded the motion.The motion passed with all in
favor. President Hall asked for nominations for vice-president. Boardmember Walters nominated
Boardmember Barker for vice-president. President Hall called for nominations 3 more times before
Boardmember Rajski called for a motion to close nominations which was seconded by Boardmember
Krause.Boardmember Borey made a motion to approve Boardmember Barker for vice-president.
Boardmember Walters seconded the motion.The motion to approve Boardmember Barker for vice-president
passed with all in favor.
President Hall called for a motion to open nominations for secretary.Vice-President Barker made a motion
to open nominations for secretary.Boardmember Borey seconded the motion.The motion passed with all
in favor.President Hall called for nominations for secretary. Boardmember Krause nominated Boardmember
Borey for secretary.President Hall called for nominations for secretary 3 more times before Boardmember
Walters called for a motion to close nominations which was seconded by Vice-President Barker.The

motion passed with all in favor.Boardmember Rajski made a motion to approve Boardmember Borey for
secretary.Vice-President Barker seconded the motion.The motion to approve Boardmember Borey for
secretary passed with all in favor.
4. 22-742 Update on the goals, strategies and tactics of the Library's 3 year
Strategic Plan.
Director Harrison reviewed the goals and strategies currently being worked on as part of the
Library's 3 year Strategic Plan.
J. Requests for Future Agenda Items
Ideas on how to put the word out to the public on all the library has to offer and results of what
has been done so far.
