President Hall called the meeting to order at 6:30pm

D. Librarian's Report
Director Harrison reviewed the monthly report for May.The Kindness Carnival kicked off the first
official day of summer reading on June 1 with over 500 attendees.There will be a food drive
during June and July for the Superstition Community Food Bank.The deposit location is
centrally located in the lobby of the library and is accepting canned and non-perishable food
items. The library will be receiving a Gila River Indian Community Grant for a Charlie Cart. The
Charlie Cart is a mobile kitchen that includes a variety of tools for cooking.This is a culinary
literacy program that fulfills the funding priorities of education and health while also enhancing
the library's culinary literacy program known as Biblio Bites. This grant will bring education to
children K-5 to learn about the culinary arts and demonstrate how to create healthy food choices
and meals.
The shelving project for the north wing of the library is slated to begin August 7th with
deconstruction of the current shelving. The following week will consist of prepping the area and
the week of August 21 st will be the installation of the new shelving. Collections, although not
accessible to the public, may be retrieved by staff should patrons make a request.Some carts
with materials from the north wing area will also be made available for patrons to browse
through.
