F. Correspondence and Communications
Director Harrison reported that we have received a$20,000 donation from the Glenn Perkins
Educational Foundation.

G. Librarian's Report
Director Harrison reviewed the June and July statistics. Some of the programming events for
the summer included the"Paint and Punch"event with 22 attendees. Our Computer Lab
Assistant, Dennis Harpool, a certified Bob Ross and Jerry Yamell landscape instructor, led the
class in the painting of an owl. Peter Pan and Tinkerbell stopped in for some photo
opportunities and activities for families that included 140 participants.Another favorite event
"Radical Reptiles"provided 2 shows that brought in 250 attendees. Director Harrison reviewed
the summer reading program statistics.The west entrance of the building received an update
with brand new"Apache Junction Public Library" lettering added above the west entrance.The
youth area also received an update of some better and brighter lighting.The north wing shelving
project is currently underway and estimated to be completed towards the end of August.The
"Charlie Cart"was talked about at the last meeting and Director Harrison did some research
and found that a woman named Carolyn Federman was the founder of the Charlie Cart Project
and also came up with this name. Rolling kitchens were used by the French Soldiers in World
War I.The chuck wagon of the American pioneers predates this rolling cart and that led her to
the name"Charlie Cart"which is considered the great, great grandchild of the chuck wagon,
pioneering food education for the next generation. We will soon have our Charlie Cart and will
provide more information when we receive it.

1. 23-353 Discussion and possible vote for a one-time courtesy deletion of all expired
Apache Junction Public Library accounts 5 years or older with fees of$49.99
or less.
This was denied.
Secretary Judy Borey made a motion to vote on a one-time deletion of all expired Apache
Junction"Library accounts five(5)years or older with fees of$49.99 or less.
