Director Harrison reviewed the July and August monthly statistics.The north wing library

shelving project is almost completed.We are still waiting on some bookends and some display
ends for some end panels.We are also looking in to getting some wireless charging stations in
the north wing.There were 2 author visits and signings from J.A. Jance that included 90
attendees.After school programs included"Lab Rats,"for ages 9-14,where kids experience
hands on stem related activities."Crafty Kids"was another program for after school.This
program introduces kids to a variety of mediums that artists use. Kids experimented with
drawing, sketching and painting.This is a registration program which ensures that we have
enough materials for all to participate.We also received a visit from Avalon School's 6th grade
class.The class received student library cards and were able to tour the building,the mobile
library and check out a book.Avalon School does not have its own library, so the school has
prioritized our library services for their students. The mobile library is planning to visit the Avalon
School in November and the 6th grade classes will return to the library in December for more
activities.
H. Old Business
1. 23-510 Discussion and possible vote on a change to policy language for a deletion of
all expired Apache Junction Public Library accounts 7 years or older with fees
of$49.99 or less.

Director Harrison noted that after further review,this item would be better applied to the library
procedures instead of the library policies and has requested the board modify the language as
such upon voting.A change to the wording in the document on the first page where
"Policy/Conditions"is will be changed to"Procedures/Conditions."
