President Hall called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm.

G. Librarian's Report
Director Harrison reviewed the September monthly report. Recent events at the library included
the Star Wars Solar Eclipse Parry. Family activities took place and solar eclipse glasses were
provided free to families. Biblio Bites featured the creation of soft pretzels utilizing the newly
acquired Charlie Cart. Congratulations to Outreach Librarian and Supervisor, Megan Carbiener
who was the recipient of the Rising Star Award from the Association of Bookmobile and
Outreach Services. This award is for achievements of those new to the bookmobile and
outreach profession.

Upcoming programs include a partnered program with Parks & Recreation called Smores &
Stories. It will be a free evening of family fun including an evening desert walk at Silly Mountain
on Friday, November 10th from 6-8pm. Another event will be Dead Men Tell No Tales But Their
Gravemarkers Do. Members of the Pioneer Cemetery Association and the Arizona Chapter for
the Association for Gravestone Studies will share their knowledge of gravemarker symbolism
and reveal the regional distinctions between cemeteries in the west and those of the more
familiar east coast that are depicted in art, movie and film.

I. New Business
1. 23-582 Welcome New Library Board Members
New members of the Library Board have been appointed to fill vacancies and
will take this time to make introductions to the Library Board. No action is
required.
President Hall welcomed our newest board members Catherine Meek and Barbara Fitzgerald to
the library board.
2. 23-583 Election of Officers.
This annual election of officers selects a President, Vice-President
and Secretary for the Library Board. The officer who currently
holds a position may not be re-elected to the same position, but
may be nominated and elected for any other position. Each officer
is expected to serve for a one year term.
President Hall called for a motion to open nominations for president of the library board. Board
member Barker made a motion to open nominations. Board member Fitzgerald seconded the
motion. The motion to open nominations passed with all in favor. President Hall called for
nominations. Board member Walters nominated Board member Barker. President Hail called
for nominations 3 more times. No other nominations were made. President Hall then called for a
motion to close nominations. Board member Walters made a motion to close nominations. The
motion to close nominations was seconded by Board member Meek. The motion passed with
all in favor. President Hall called for a motion to approve the nomination of Board member
Barker. Board member Meek made a motion to approve Robin Barker for president. Board
member Bigelow seconded the motion. The motion to approve Robin Barker for president
passed with all in favor.
President Barker called for a motion to open nominations for vice president of the Library Board.
Board member Meek made a motion to open nominations. Board member Borey seconded the
motion. The motion passed with all in favor. President Barker asked for nominations for vice
president. Board member Hall nominated Board member Bigelow for vice-president. President
Barker called for nominations 3 more times. No other nominations were made. President
Barker then asked for a motion to close nominations. Board member Hall made a motion to
close nominations for vice president. The motion to close nominations was seconded by Board
member Meek. President Barker called for a motion to approve Board member Bigelow for vice
president. Board member Borey made a motion to approve Sheryl Bigelow for vice president.
Board member Walters seconded the motion. The motion to approve Sheryl Bigelow for vice

president passed with all in favor.
President Barker called for a motion to open nominations for secretary. Board member Meek
made a motion to open nominations. Board member Hail seconded the motion. The motion
passed with all in favor. President Barker called for nominations for secretary. Board member
Walters nominated Board member Meek for secretary. Board member Hall nominated Board
member Fitzgerald for secretary. President Barker called for nominations 3 more times. No
other nominations were made. President Barker then asked for a motion to close nominations.
Board member Meek called for a motion to close nominations. The motion to close nominations
was seconded by Vice President Bigelow. The motion passed with all in favor. President Barker
asked for a motion to approve Board member Meek for secretary. Board member Walters made
a motion to approve Catherine Meek for secretary. Board member Hall seconded the motion.
The motion to approve Catherine Meek for secretary passed with all in favor.
J. Requests for Future Agenda Items
None.
K. Adjournment
President Barker adjourned the meeting at 6:52 pm.
