SPECIAL MEETING
Sept. 18, 1980
A special meeting of the Library Board of Trustees was held
on September 18, 1980 pursuant to notice as required by law.
CALL TO ORDER:
Mrs. Eleanor Lewis, President,
called the meeting to roder at
4:00 P.M. at the Apache Junction
City Hall.

read a letter regarding donation
of the Library to the City from
the City Attorney's Office signed
by Michael A. Curtis.
None
Introduction of guest speaker:
Sandra Nelson from Pinal County
LIbrary extension services and co-
ordinator at the state level.She
explained federal guidelines and
grants and how she will help the
board to achieve these.Also we
must have a reply from the State
on our letter of intent.
State Library Board consists of (7)
seven (user) members.They will
advise of using Public Library
grants, long range program.
Library Services and Construction
Act provised grant writing workshop.
Process of wording - a system for
removal of books no longer in demand
or too outdated to be of any benefit
to the public.
Inter Library Loan- Reference material
and Summer Reading from Pinal County
Library Extension Service.
Need for new Public Library to start
out with a Library Technician Associate.
Receive books and material from Pinal
county Lending Library.
Library Extension Service to hold
open house October 23 and 24, 1980 at
Fiests Inn at Broadway and Priest in
Tempe.This workshop will provide
program kits for children and young
adults.
To expedite receiving more current
literature and mailings, the trustees
changed the Public Library mailing
address at the county level to the
address of P.O.Box K, Apache Junction.
Jan Hiller made the motion to adjourn, which was
seconded by Mr. Taylor.
