SPECIAL MEETING
January 9, 1982
A special meeting of the Apache Junction Library Board
of Trustees was held on January 9, 1982 at 10:00 a.m. at the Apache
Junction City Hall Complex pursuant to notice as prescribed by law.
PRESENT
Elizabeth Burks, President
Don Taylor, Secretary
Jan Hiller
Hazel Eldridge
Eleanor Lewis
Lillian Castro

BOARD DISCUSSION:
ABSENT
The meeting was called to order by
Elizabeth Burks, President.
Eleanor Lewis made a motion to
accept the agenda as presented.
Hazel Eldridge seconded the motion
which carried unanimously.
Topics of discussion were:
1) Transfer of Library to City, Wait
until the librarian is hired so that
services can be continued.
2)Inventory and weeding.The weeding
was done in the fall of 1981.
3)Can we inventory from old records
or do we do it physically.
4)Look at Library plant physically.
5)Advertising for librarian. •
6)See Bill McDaniel about finances
and all matters concerned.Jan
Hiller and Don Taylor met with McDaniel.
The Library is to ask for funds by
means of a request to the City.
Insurance (liability)Any volunteer
help should be supervised but the
librarian can leave for short periods.
City employment form was looked at
and read.
7)What hours for library?Approx-
imately six hours a day, open six days
per week.The work week will be forty
hours.
8)What about a P.O.Box for mail?The
present mailing address is 122 E.
2nd Ave., Ap. Jct., AZ 85220.
9)Old platt of Apache Junction Plaza
brought in by Jan Hiller.Platts 51
and 52 are a part of this greater
whole.There are restrictions and
regulations regarding this platt.
These must be considered in such things
as to available parking space.

APPROVED:
Elizabeth Burks, president, presented
a resignation to the Library Board,
stating personal reasons.Jan Hiller
made a motion to accept the resignation
of Elizabeth Burks.Lillian Castro
seconded the motion which carried with
five (5) yeses.Elizabeth Burks
abstaining from vote.Motion carried_
Eleanor Lewis made a motion to give
a request to the City Clerk to ad-
vertise for a librarian.Jan Hiller
seconded the motion which carried
unanimously.
Jan Hiller made a motion to hold
interviews for librarian on January
16, 1982 from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m.
Hazel Eldridge seconded the motion
which carried unanimously.
Jan Hiller made a motion to adjourn
with Lillian Castro making the second.
Motion carried unanimously.
