HomeMy WebLinkAbout1982 03-18 Library Special MinutesCITY OF APACHE JUNCTION LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES 122 East Second Avenue Apache Junction, Arizona SPECIAL MEETING March 18, 1982 A Special Meeting of the Apache Junction Library Board of Trustees was held on March 18, 1982 at 7:00 p.m. at the Apache Junction Library pursuant to notice as prescribed by law. PRESENT ABSENT Margaret Carlin Lillian Castro Hazel Eldridge Eleanor Lewis Donald Taylor Jan Hiller Ruby Forsberg STAFF PRESENT:Elizabeth Burks, Librarian Jim Tuvell, City Manager Jeff Bell, Community Services Superintendent CALL TO ORDER:The meeting was called to order by Hazel Eldridge, President. ACCEPTANCE OF AGENDA: BUSINESS --JOB ANALYSIS: BUDGET 82/83 A motion was made by Lillian Castro to accept the agenda as presented.Margaret Carlin seconded the motion which carried unanimously. The City Manager, Jim Tuvell, worked with the Library Board in creating a job analysis chart about the position of the librarian.He furnished the general headings of: tasks, frequency of duties, difficulties of duties, consequence of error in duties.The next section in- cluded the knowledge, skills and the abilities needed to perform the job and whether they would be needed the first day or at a later time. We, the Library Board, along with Elizabeth Burks supplied the topics of tasks and the information about the knowledge skills and abilities needed. The reason for this job analysis is so that a job description can be written and also the three following things: 1) pay scale comparison; 2) test questions for a new position; 3) performance evaluations. The City Manager said he would make up a chart about this position of librarian and get back with the Board about the job analysis and job description. The budget was discussed and an approximate set of figures were arrived at.The -budget will be discussed and an exact figure arrived at in a later meeting. Library Board Special Meeting 3-18-82 page 2 APPROVED: mre/aent Secretary $200 was added for a better typewriter, and $300 was added for material for shelving. The labor of building and installing was volunteered by Don Taylor, and Lillian Castro offered the use of her machinery to get the job done. A motion to adjourn was made by Margaret Carlin.Motion was seconded by Eleanor Lewis, and carried unanimously.
