Regular Meeting
November 1, 1983
A regular meeting of the Apache Junction Library Board of Trustees was held
November 1, 1983 at 7:00 p.m. at the Apache Junction Library pursuant to notice as
prescribed by law.

A motion was made by Eleanor Lewis,
seconded by Ruby Forsberg to accept
the agenda as presented. Passed unani-
mously.
A motion was made by Hazel Eldridge,
and seconded by Eleanor Lewis to accept
the minutes of the October 4, 1983 meet-
ing.Passed Unanimously.
The librarian's report was presented
by Pamela Loui, Librarian.The Library
now has a telephone for the personal USE
of the Librarian - 982-6342.Books and
furniture have benn rearranged.overdu(
notices will be mailed out in three
stages.A mailbox has been donated by
the "Friends of the Library" - soon to
start receiving mail at the Library
location, instead of at the City Comple)
A motion was made by Ruby Forsberg, to
accept the "young adult services policy:
"gift policy", and "weeding policy",and
seconded by Eleanor Lewis. Passed unai-
mously.
The circulation system has been ordered
and some materials have arrived.
The book drop arrived yesterday and wil:
by installed soon.
The minutes of January, 1983; May, 1983
June, 1983, August 1983 and September,
1983 were all signed by the President/
Vice President and Secretary.
A motion was made by Eleanor Lewis,and
seconded by Hazel Eldridge to approve
the June, 1983 minutes.Passed Unaimous
ly.
A motion was made by Eleanor Lewis, and
seconded by Hazel Eldridge to. approve
the January, 1983, May, 1983, August,
1983, and September, 1983 minutes.

A. Introduction and welcome for

B. Publicity campaign - launch
date; November 19th:
Alice Polomskey has been newly
appointed by the City Council to
the Library Board of Trustees.
As presented by Pamela Loui, Librar-
ian - this is a campaign to gain re-
cognition for the Library - whereby
the participating merchants will of-
fer a discount to buyers upon pre-
sentation of a "Library card".
Library card holders will be given
a list of the participating mer-
chants.Buttons will be purchased
for each participating individual ti
wear - "Friends of the Library" to
assist.
C. Volunteer manual - draft:Tabled until December meeting.

The cost is approximately $250.00-
needs to be put out for bids. Tablec
until December meeting.
A motion was made by Hazel Eldridge,
and seconded by Margaret Carlin to
nominate Jan Hiller for Pressident.
Passed unanimously.
A motion was made by Margaret Carlit
seconded by Hazel Eldridge to nomin-
ate Eleanor Lewis for Vice Presideni
passed unanimously.
A motion was made by Eleanor Lewis,
seconded by Ruby Forsberg to nomin-
ate Alice Polomskey for Secretary.
passed unanimously.
A motion was made by Ruby Forsberg,
and seconded by Eleanor Lewis for
adjournment, passed unanimously.
