Chairperson Brennan called the meeting to order at 5:01 p.m.

3. 24-185 Consideration of Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Health and Human Services funding
recommendations to presented to City Council at the May 20, 2024 Work
Session.
Commissioner Moeller moved,seconded by Vice Chair Danford that the recommendation to
Council for the 2024-2025 Health and Human Services funding in the amount of$ 80,000.00 be
dispersed as follows:
$6,000.00 to A New Leaf
$3,500.00 to Apache Junction Community Development Corporation (AJ CDC)
$9,100.00 to Boys and Girls Club of the Valley
$50,00.00 to Superstition Community Food Bank
$5,000.00 to Bigger Than Us
$3,000.00 to Begin Again Homes
$ 400.00 to Horizon Health and Wellness
$3,000.00 to Desert Chapel

Commissioner Smithson and Commissioner Voisine

Excused: 2 - Chairperson Mitchell and Commissioner Wood
Commission members discussed their recommendations and reasoning behind them. They
asked additional questions to representatives with Desert Chapel and the Boys and Girls Club.
The Commission agreed to use a percentage to increase the amount of funding for each
non-profit if the City Council approves a total funding amount budget of$90,000 for Fiscal Year
2024-2025.
2. 24-327 Presentation and discussion on the application submitted by Horizon Health
and Wellness for Fiscal Year 2024-2025 funding.
A representative from Horizon Health and Wellness was not at the meeting.
H. Information and Reports
4. 24-102 Discussion on the duties of the commission.
There was no discussion as this was covered in the last meeting.

City Clerk Jennifer Pena had no report.

No future meeting dates or times were selected.
