City Council legislative work plan
2 Request by the Commission for placement of items on future agenda.

I . CALL TO PUBLIC. Arizona Open Meeting Law allows individuals to address
Commission on any issue within the jurisdiction of the Commission.

FIX APACHE TRAIL
The stretch of Apache Trail from Meridian to Idaho Road is in dire
FACT condition.This portion of"The Trail"not only runs through the heart of
the community,it is the heart. We gather and socialize here.We honor ouroliiilliNk
veterans here.We celebrate our history and heritage here.
Since 2001,Highway User Revenue Funds(HURF)have decreased from
$1.3 million to$3.8 million.With diminished HURF monies,a supplemental
FACT revenue source must be established The Apache Junction City Council
will consider increasing the city sales tax from 2.2%to 2 4% All funds Bad roads cost you
generated from the 2/o increase(approximately 1 million per year)will go
directly to pay for road improvements,with Apache Trail as the priority
Apache Junction relies heavily on sales tax since there is not a city property 241 a year.
