NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING
OF THE APACHE JUNCTION CITY COUNCIL
Pursuant to A.R.S. §38-431 .02, notice is hereby given to the
Apache Junction City Council and to the general public that
a Special Meeting open to the public will be held on Monday,
April 1, 1985, 17 6:45 P.M. , in the Apache Junction City
Council Chambers, 1001 N. Idaho Road, Apache Junction, AZ.
The agenda for the meeting is as follows.
1 . Call to order -- Roll Call
2. Proposed Resolution No. 85-12, Conducting the official
canvass of votes for the March 26, 1985, Primary Election
3. Adjournment
Copies of this agenda and additional information regarding any of the items
listed above may be obtained through the City Clerk's office, 1001 North
Idaho Road, Apache Junction, AZ. , Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to
5:00 p.m. , excluding holidays.

MEMORANDUM TO: HONORABLE MAYO AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL

SUBJECT: PROPOSED RESOLUTION NO. 85-12 (CANVASS OF VOTES)
In accordance with State law, the Council is required to meet on the first
Monday immediately following an election to canvass the returns of said
election.
The attached Resolution No. 85-12 reflects the actual returns of the
Primary Election held on March 26th for all candidates as well as the
two proportions which appeared on the ballot. Also attached are copies
of the printouts as the ballots were processed by the computer on
election night. These printouts do not reflect the rejected ballots.
Based upon these returns, three candidates did receive more than a
majority of all votes cast and, in accordance with the optional
election procedure adopted by the city, are elected to the council
and will take office at the first regular meeting in June.

A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
APACHE JUNCTION, PINAL AND MARICOPA COUNTIES, ARIZONA,
CONDUCTING AND ACCEPTING THE OFFICIAL CANVASS OF VOTES
FOR THE CITY PRIMARY ELECTION HELD MARCH 26, 1985.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF APACHE JUNCTION, ARIZONA, AS FOLLOWS
WHEREAS, the Primary Election for the purpose of nominating and/or
electing members of the city council and for the purpose of placing two
propositions before the voters of the City of Apache Junction, Arizona,
was held on March 26, 1985, and
WHEREAS, Arizona Revised Statutes 9-821 01 and Ordinance No. 3
of the City of Apache Junction, provide for the election of candidates at
the Primary Election if such candidates receive a majority of all votes
cast at the Primary Election, and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Arizona Revised Statutes 16-642, a
Special Meeting of the City Council was held on April 1, 1985, for the
purpose of canvassing the returns of the Primary Election, and
WHEREAS, the City Council did canvass the election returns at
said Special Meeting and did determine the official results of the Primary
Election to be as follows
1 Total number of Absentee Ballots cast for all precincts. 47
2. Total number of Absentee Ballots rejected for all precints 2
3 Total number of ballots cast in Precincts 22A/22B/Maricopa Apache 724
4 Total number of ballots rejected in Precincts 22A/22B/Maricopa Apache: 1
5. Total number of ballots cast in Precincts 22C/22F 664
6 Total number of ballots rejected in Precincts 22C/22F 9
7 Total number of ballots cast in Precincts 22D/22E 368
8. Total number of ballots rejected in Precincts 22D/22E 3
